How many times do you have to be told.
Except for Nixon and Trump, presidents did not have, or want any control over what the DOJ did. That was 100% left to the Attorney General.

Yeah, and his longest serving one was Epstein's great defender....she was also on teh short list to replace Holder as AG, but withdrew because of her close personal relationship with Obama.


Notably, the email descriptions also assert that Ruemmler was among a group of attorneys who worked with Epstein in 2015 to push back on a planned “Good Morning America” interview with one of his most outspoken victims, Virginia Roberts Giuffre. Epstein’s estate claims that Ruemmler helped draft a legal letter sent to ABC News in April 2015 threatening legal action if the piece aired, which it never did.

A CNN analysis found that Ruemmler is included in more than 300 emails in the privilege log, which shows thousands of entries between Epstein and his attorneys from as early as 2008 through July 2019. The logs were provided as part of an ongoing civil suit by two alleged victims against the executors of Epstein’s estate.

While there are often a handful of people on those emails, including lawyers and sometimes a journalist and a public relations crisis professional, there are more than 150 emails between just Ruemmler and Epstein.


Far from a passive observer who was added to email chains among Epstein’s lawyers, Ruemmler appears in the log as an active participant in many instances. She is listed as the sender of at least 135 of those emails, according to the privilege log.

I hate to burst your bubble, but by 2014 she left the white house and was working for a private firm.

In 2015, attorney Kathryn Ruemmler was employed as a partner at the law firm Latham & Watkins LLP in Washington, D.C..
She joined the firm in June 2014, serving as the Global Chair of the White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice after leaving her position as Counsel to President Barack Obama. During 2015, she was involved in litigation, including representing clients in high-profile cases.

Her firm represented high profile people like Epstein for a living.

Sorry Charlie, but she had nothing to do with Obama at that time.

haha, the power of the executive vest in A PRESIDENT.....not a AG and the President. The President is the chief law enforcement officer of the United States, any power the AG has is given to him or her by the President, who not only appoints him, has them report to, and controls the DOJ

It was a republican who gave Epstein his sweetheart deal, that kept him out of federal prison.
Why don't you want that investigated by removing the redactions from the 56 page indictment that they never presented to a grand jury. And instead without telling any of the victims, let Epstein plea to lesser charge in state court. That allowed him to continue to work at his day job.

And after Watergate, the policy changed to a separation between the President and the Attorney General.

After Watergate, the DOJ enacted strict reforms to restore independence, primarily by limiting White House contacts regarding investigations.

White House Contact Restrictions: Policies were established to limit direct communication between the White House and the DOJ, particularly regarding pending investigations, to prevent political interference.

These reforms aimed to ensure that the Department of Justice functioned independently of the political interests of the President and other elected officials.

Actually that's not Trump releasing the files.
That's Trump being required and forced under LAW, to release the files.
Trump fought and continues to fight the release of all the files.
Trump also hasn't explained the redactions and withholdings, which he was required to do under law.
