If they have the capability to build a nuclear weapon, why didn't they? What are they waiting for? Their nation is now getting firebombed. Common sense tells me, if they had the ability to produce those weapons, they would. And frankly in this situation, would have used them for survival. If they had no way to deliver them to their targets, they surely cold have screwed up the Gulf of Hormuz as an example and screwing up the economy of the planet to degree.

Iran has their own uranium resources, so I guess they could have mined the necessary uranium quickly. However, if we were to believe Trump, it seems extremely infeasible that they could have built the necessary centrifuges to enrich that uranium in such a short time frame.
