Oops. Nope. After further review I guess Energy prices are NOT down 50% - they are actually up. As you can hear in the post below Trump often slurred through a promise to lower energy prices by 50% in one year "mark it down". He said we should be very angry with him if he doesnt do it.
  • Home energy prices are up with natural gas UP 50%, not down
  • CPI Energy component was UP 2.3%, not down 50%
  • Oil rig counts are down 6%
  • Oil output has changed less than 2%
  • Gas within 30 cents of last year ~10%

Remember October 2024 people were fainting at a Trump town hall Q&A and they called off the Q&A? Trump played his shitty music the rest of the time?

He and Noem mentioned it was hot in the venue, and Trump asked about air conditioning.

"They probably can't afford it, sir, in this economy," Noem quipped.

Even with gas prices down from when Biden was President, energy prices are up. And that's before the Iran war. Let that sink in. So now Energy prices are WAY up Ms. Noem. Why don't you go into your private jet's bedroom and let Corey **** you some more. You're a married woman Ms. Noem. Shame on you.

But the fact is, if she had the balls to say that in 2024, what does she say now? If people couldn't afford to run AC in 2024, they certainly are going to be dropping dead this summer.

Yes facts that are negative to your messiah are lame. And the Epstein files are pretty boring stuff

For Consumers, which serves 1.8 million electricity customers in Michigan, the average kilowatt-hour electricity rate for a residential customer went from 8.9 cents in January 2006 to 20.5 cents in December 2025, a 130% increase, according to the commission data.

All true except ... gas prices are no longer down. :)

Oh I forgot to say this was before the Iran war.

It's amazing how much more Republicans are willing to pay to have a Republican President.

I shouldn't be surprised. I'd pay more for a green/clean environment, more government control of corporations, more fair taxation, for a government who would strengthen social security and medicare and a government that was pro labor/unions.

Well this thread did not age well.

Dow Drops As Stocks Sell Off Around The World And Oil Prices Soar On War Worries

It was already a lie before Trump started a war in Iran and drove OIL prices up too.

That was his only thing. Oil prices were down. Every other form of energy has gone up in price. Overall, we pay more now than we did under Biden.

But have you seen the dow?

The short‑term price spikes that did occur in 2022 were not provoked by increasing LNG exports but rather are the result of unique factors. Coming out of the pandemic involved major hurdles: Supply chain challenges and labor shortages stymied domestic production as demand for energy resumed. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine also upended energy supply-demand dynamics abroad and inflated global coal prices, causing increased consumption of natural gas and depleting inventories. Both crises created supply shocks, elevating prices for months.

Some regions in the U.S. have seen high natural gas prices, but LNG exports are not the culprit. Rather, a culmination of ill-advised policy decisions and permitting roadblocks largely triggered higher costs.

The states with the highest natural gas prices need more pipelines to boost distribution, but that lack of sufficient infrastructure is by choice. The Northeast has impeded close to 5 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d) of natural gas—enough to stabilize reliability and pricing—by blocking multiple pipeline projects. This is costing consumers and businesses roughly $10-$20 billion per year.

Pipeline constraints are especially unforgiving during winter months.

While average Henry Hub spot prices may soar to $30/MMBtu with cold snaps, the Northeast generally sees closer to $80/MMBtu, at times exceeding $100/MMBtu. Winter Storm Fern this past January saw some areas reach $300/MMBtu on its harshest days.

Last winter residential customers in Massachusetts paid 80% more for natural gas than those in Pennsylvania. The difference? Pennsylvania has adequate infrastructure.

Oil at $74.68 now. Nat Gas at $3.07. We shall see if Iran is able to keep the Strait closed, and continuing to damage ME facilities.

  • In October 2025, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced the cancellation of roughly $7.6 billion in Biden-era clean energy awards, primarily targeting projects in states with Democratic leadership.
  • The White House Office of Management and Budget described the cuts as "Green New Scam funding," and listed 16 states affected, all of which voted for Kamala Harris in 2024, including California, New York, and Washington.
  • Although the grants were classified by the political alignment of the state government that received them, many of the projects themselves were located in red states (e.g., Montana, Utah, Alaska).
  • "Collateral Damage": The cancellation of large regional hubs, such as the $1 billion Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Hub, impacted Republican-led areas, with local GOP officials in Montana expressing concern over the loss of "good-paying" jobs.
  • Selective Preservation: Some large-scale renewable energy projects in red states—such as in Texas, Louisiana, and West Virginia—did not face the same steep cuts
  • A June 2025 study from the University of Maryland found that a full reversal of federal clean energy policies would cause the most significant economic pain to states like Texas, Michigan, Indiana, and Montana, with each expecting billions in GDP losses.
  • The impact is significant because red states have become major producers of renewable energy. In 2024, four out of the top five states generating the largest share of renewable electricity were Republican-led (Texas, Iowa, Oklahoma, and Kansas).
  • These states have benefited from substantial clean energy investments in wind, solar, and battery manufacturing, making them vulnerable to shifts in federal policy.
  • In December 2025, Ford Motor Company and SK On shut down production at their massive electric vehicle battery plant in Glendale, Kentucky, resulting in 1,600 job losses only four months after production began. The layoffs, which also affected third-party contractors, were attributed to slowing EV demand and shifts in federal policy regarding clean energy tax credits.

Tell me when the last time they were NOT up?

As you can hear in the post below Trump often slurred through a promise to lower energy prices by 50% in one year
Hey Stoopid, you do realize that we were still under the Biden budget until some time last October? That means we are really only about 4 months in to actually being under Trump's! How much do you want to bet some of that stuff starts coming down as Spring leads into summer? And the actions of your own party in shutting the government isn't helping the economy.

But I love it how you were eager to justify, ignore and rationalize any excuse possible for everything Biden did, while eager to magnify the slightest foible you can find to complain about Trump with.

Where are all the democrats bragging about the great things they plan to do once they regain control of Congress this Fall?

MI approved those rates....Meh, they should have looked after their people better.

The spike in electricity rates in Michigan can be attributed to several factors:

Listen to Trump say "I am running on a plan to cut your energy prices in half within 12 months"

Any EOs on drilling or the gas industry didnt wait for the budget. What does the budget have to do with energy prices at all? What is in the budget that will cut energy prices in half immediately? I support what ever it is!

Listen to Trump say "I am running on a plan to cut your energy prices in half within 12 months"

Fine. Sue him. He planned on cutting prices within 12 months and it hasn't worked out yet as he planned. Trump also planned on ending the Ukraine War fast and never wanted battle with Iran. I guess Trump never expected to be having to deal with stuff like mobs of paid radicals attacking ICE officers making arrests, and now the democrats shutting the government down.

Have you called your local democrat to tell them to stop obstructing government? Trump is not the whole world--- but he tries. Stop obstructing the guy then bitching about stuff not happening.

So we both acknowledge Trump is failing but only one of us thinks it is a problem? I dont understand cults.

These factors combined contribute to the ongoing trend of rising electricity rates in Michigan.

Sorry to break it to you energy prices are up in every state. Don't cherry pick and don't give me the same excuses I would give you if Kamala were president. The fact is Trump ran on getting energy prices down. Factor in all energy costs in and prices are up. Before the Iran war, gas was the only one down but even factoring that in, prices still up. NOW we have a war. Now energy prices are WAY UP, and it is 100% Trump's fault. Let's not forget that fact. You blame Biden when it's not his fault. This is Trump's fault.

Although someone earlier tried to blame all this on Carter. Was that you?

So we both acknowledge Trump is failing

Trump is not failing, just being deterred from his desires and intentions by obstruction and interference as usual from the democrat party. I'm sure he is already attacking the energy cost problem and will be bringing it down ASAP.

Kinda funny, you democrats are like little children who first trip a person making them fall, then laugh and accuse him of not being able to walk. I guess you'd run the country into the dirt if you thought it would help you win an election by blaming it on your victim.
