Employers added 130,000 jobs in January, topping expectations

Economists had forecast a monthly payroll gain of 75,000, according to polling from financial data company FactSet.

The unemployment rate in January stood at 4.3% in January, down from 4.4% in December, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said Friday.

:oops8:

The leftists here won't like that.

Unemployment down too. :)

We need private sector not government jobs. Obama created debt funded government jobs. We have to pay for them. Trump is transitioning us forma debt based government economy to wealth based private economy. The progress so far is astounding
What damn progress? The government is spending more money, not less. The debt is still growing. Did you not read the article,

Hiring was strongest in the health care sector, which added 82,000 jobs last month, followed by social assistance, with 42,000 payroll gains. The federal government and financial activities shed jobs.

Yes, the federal government shed jobs, but state and local governments have picked up the difference. I checked a couple months ago, total government workers were a tad higher than the previous year. And the crazy part, there are thousands of open state jobs and thousands more local jobs.

We already have a wealth based economy because wealth takes a huge amount of enhanced productivity. I mean everyone seems to be clueless to the problem, maybe because it is staring them in the face. It is not the deficit, it is not regulation, it is the very SYSTEM. Capitalist, meet rope.

False the annual deficit dropped from 2.6 to 1.7 trillion. In 3 years it will be zero. We still have many of Bidens polices to fix. He had 4 years to wreck the economy. So far Trump has had astounding success.
Speaking of states blue states are losing millions in population and going broke. Red states are thriving.
We are in a transition from a government funded economy to a private funded wealth creating economy. Its only been 13 months and and Trumps improvements are astounding. Tax cuts haven't kicked in yet. We get better every month.
Biden strangled the economy crushed the middle class and created the worst inflation in 40 years. Massive regulations poor energy policies printed money and president who had serious cognitive problems was not a great idea

Do I really have to explain the difference between debt and deficit. We still going broke, just not as quickly. Hey honey, we did good last month, instead of increasing our credit card debt by $260, we only increased it by $170, lets go out to dinner.

And you are certainly overstating the blue state red state thing. Sure, I see it, best economies, Florida, Texas--both shitholes if you ask me. But North Carolina shows up in the mix, and so does Connecticut and Colorado, GASP. But you know what state is at the bottom when it comes to Economies? I doubt it has ever happened before, I will give you a hint. Speaker of the House.

Again, this is 70,000 below the MINIMUM expected for the Obama sector. We need 200,000 jobs a month just to keep up with population growth.
And that is not going to happen, if ever again.
A.I. is going to continue to wreck these numbers exponentially in the next 5 years.
43% of businesses say they expect to cut labor force in 2026 and replace with A.I.

"Hiring picked up as 2026 kicked into gear, with the US economy adding a stronger-than-expected 130,000 jobs last month and the unemployment rate dropping to 4.3%, according to new Bureau of Labor Statistics data released Wednesday."

It’s the strongest month of employment gains since December 2024. Trump doing excellent work on jobs.

Not to worry, democrats and their lying media will find a way to spin that.

Then there's this, from the Wall Street Journal by way of MSN:

The government has dramatically lowered its estimates for how many jobs the economy generated over the past two years.

The Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics on Wednesday said that the U.S. added just 1.5 million jobs in 2024, well below the previously estimated 2 million. In 2025, it said the labor market added only 181,000 jobs, versus the previously estimated 584,000.

Two separate revisions are mainly at play.

First, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released its annual “benchmark” revision, which accompanies each year’s January employment report and which revises job-growth estimates for the year ending the previous March. Wednesday’s revision showed there were a seasonally adjusted 898,000 fewer jobs previously reported.

Second, the BLS adjusted the methodology it uses to estimate how many businesses open and close each month, which affected job figures for the remainder of 2025.

For its monthly jobs report, the BLS surveys roughly 121,000 employers covering about one-third of all U.S. payroll jobs. This provides a timely snapshot of the labor market. But for a variety of reasons, over time these employment estimates can stray from reality. So once a year, the BLS adjusts for this by benchmarking its estimates against a near-complete count of employment based on state unemployment insurance records.

Looks like Brett Matsumoto, the current head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, gets to keep his job. I hope it is legit.

Me too. We know the BLS under bribem was lying through its teeth.

I will not believe anything coming from this adminitation.

It has gotten adjusted after first monthly report under both administrations and other administrations, for that matter. I am sure Brett Matsumoto, the current head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, does not want to meet the same fate as Erika McEntarfer, when he did not like her statistics.

Vile dems on today's report:

"Trump needs to do more."

"Why can't Trump focus on the economy?"
