In a Republic, actually
The MAGA tech billionaire says he wouldn’t work on something like the Department of Government Efficiency. It’s a shame that he ever did.

“Members of DOGE with no government or foreign aid experience — such as 23-year-old computer programmer Luke Farritor or 19-year-old Edward Coristine, who went by “Big Balls” — were responsible for investigating USAID staff for evidence of “insubordination.” This allegation was then weaponized to destroy the entire agency. Musk declared: “USAID is a criminal organization. Time for it to die.” The following day, Musk said Trump had given him the authority to feed the agency into the woodchipper.

What a difference a few months can make. Musk has gone from swinging his chainsaw around at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), siccing his DOGE goons on career civil servants and bragging about his power to crush entire agencies to meekly arguing that he was a “little bit successful.”

But DOGE hasn’t just been exposed as a fiasco — it somehow accomplished the twin feats of utterly failing to reduce government spending in any meaningful sense and causing a global calamity at the same time.

DOGE will forever be a cautionary tale: This is what happened when messianic tech oligarchs and political neophytes were temporarily handed the reins of government. They didn’t just fail — they destroyed one of the U.S.’ most important organs of soft power. They made the world sicker, poorer and more miserable. And it was all for nothing.’

“DOGE will forever be a cautionary tale…”

The problem is Republicans won’t learn from that tale, won’t learn from the failure that was ‘DOGE.’

They’ll continue to pursue the same failed, wrongheaded conservative dogma, the same failed, wrongheaded anti-government agenda continuing to harm millions of Americans.

Or the libtards are just lying ................still.

Just when I think I understand the meaning of the concept that the left cult can't stop lying, they lie harder.

You are misrepresenting Elon again, as you are misrepresenting USAID.

Elon has not changes his mind as to the corruption revolving around USAID. As we saw, they were doing things like paying Reuters media, which is essentially equivalent to the government buying them to issue propaganda for them. And as we saw, there was a lot of stupid spending on DEI and gender cult projects to promote it world wide.

Of course, there was some "good" from it, but it was there on to provide their criminal organization legitimacy and used to demonize anyone dare tamper with it. It reminds me of Al Capone, the notorious mobster who ran soup kitchens for the poor.

Elon simply has realized the scale of corruption within the system and the inability for Trump or anyone else to do much to stop it.

Once Trump is gone, it will all be back up and running, and probably on steroids this time.

Elon has basically come to the conclusion that the country will go bankrupt as there is nothing he or anyone else can do about it, unless AI can transform the economy and somehow try to save things

It is a hail Mary for sure.

Waste, fraud and abuse were exposed. Democrat or Republican, voters want their tax dollars spent responsibly. DOGE exposed the opposite.

So when Democrats start bitching about “the rich paying their fair share, ask the Democrats what their plans are to make sure dollars are spent responsibly and with visibility and accountability.

The USAID fraud ALONE was enough to validate the positive impact of having a REAL forensic audit of our agencies. There was much more, we will find out about ALL OF IT in due time.
Well done DOGE/MUSK/TRUMP!!! :clap2:

Democrats will be back in power as the pendulum always swings in Washington. Question is will voters hold them accountable for steps to guard against waste, fraud and abuse.

Other than a brief period after WWII, the United Stetes never came remotely close to providing 40% of the world’s foreign aid.

Indeed, the United States has been well down the list in per capita foreign aid.

The idea that the world owes us something is a long standing isolationist myth. They said the same thing in the 1920’s.
