A representative from Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency now works at the Department of Veterans Affairs, where they have been given access to contracting systems as well as information on VA operations and information technology systems.
Rumors began circulating Tuesday that DOGE representatives visited the VA on Tuesday with an intent to mine data on disability compensation and benefits.


But in response to questions from Military.com over DOGE activities at the VA, a VA spokesman said the department has a single DOGE employee who is "specifically focused on identifying wasteful contracts, improving VA operations and strengthening management of the department's IT projects."

The DOGE boys issued a request, but it died on a VA waitlist.

Oh and before some of you start.....I suspect the data accessed is 1000 times more secure in the hands of Musk engineers than the government......Government IT workers are generally bottom basement quality.

I am sure, it will be alright, generally. The only veterans in jeopardy are probably those that were captured, shot down, or suffered traumatic brain injury during bombardment, while serving.

I am a disabled Veteran that is totally dependent on the VA for Health Care. Totally. 100%

They are currently, right now, in the process of changing their Website access to things like appointments, pharmacy, messaging etc.

We (my Wife and I) have been trying to accommodate all their new requirement to get on the website. I can't function without it. I can't order new prescriptions, I can't message my Doctor, I can't see my appointments, I can't ask for appointments.... I can't do shit without it. In fact, I had some Bladder cancer removed couple years ago and Im supposed to get scoped every so often took for its return. Which is a 70% chance. Of it coming back. That was supposed to happen next Month

Well, they called me on the phone, early in the morning, left a message that the appointment for my scope was cancelled and I haven't been able to get hold of anybody since then. That was three months ago.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is -- They're a fucking mess. I could tell you horror stories. They just don't care. They couldn't care less about their patients.

I sometimes go into the 'community' for Private Care and let me tell you -- They are ten times better.

The VA is filled with dullards and people who just don't care. They have a goobermint job with a Union and that's all they care about.

I'm not telling you this from second hand accounts, I'm telling you from personal experience..... The VA sucks. I mean...... They suck ass. If it were a Private company, they would have been sued out of existence decades ago.

They are just simply horrible, They left a 5 millimeter Kidney stuck in my ureter for 5 Months. You don't know what pain is until you've had a kidney stone. Believe me.

Then there was my eyes. I had to go to Miami for my eyes for years. Cataracts and then later, Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy. Back then, they shot you in the eye THOUSANDS OF TIMES, with a Laser to help stop it. And I had to drive to Miami for it. Three hours, one way. Through a shithole to get there.

But hey, I'm just a disabled Veteran. Expendable. A write-off. A burden on society. In the way. Somebody they don't want to see because we remind them of their fuck-ups, their guilt.

Believe me when I tell you, that is how we are viewed by the goobermint and their employees. Believe it.

And the average citizen? What do you think?

Trump and Musk may fix it temporarily but as soon as they're gone, they will revert back to their old ways.
