Election today in Minneapolis. Will they vote to replace it's police dept with social workers?

Did you catch the part about non emergency calls?
Social workers dealing with non-emergency calls may not be a terrible thing. A lot of times, people are just going through some shit and they need somebody to talk them down and point them in the right direction, but social workers replacing police is pure comedy gold.

And the part about them getting only 3% of calls. Hardly earthshaking. And, still no evidence they call they're taking would be somehow screwed up by police officers, unless you count wishful thinking as 'fact'.

Now we can sit back and watch the cops fail at protecting citizens and property since that is not their job, their job is to strongarm money from citizens.

So give us your number and we can call you. You're obviously woke and think you know all kinds of stuff. We can have a contest and design a uniform and a cape for you.

Without police arresting criminals, there will be no police to arrest those defending life and property from criminals. Vigilante justice is the future.

Which is what it is all about but that doesn't create headlines.
Of course not, there's no real controversy for the media to play up therefore it ends up as a "feel good" story that is reported and quickly forgotten.

There is no legal precedent for cops to protect you or your property.

Only you can protect yourself cops are not reliable.

Knowing how liberal Minneapolis is, they'll fuck it up big time. Crime has surged in Minneapolis. From January 1 to mid-October there have been 75 homicides, an increase of 114% compared to the same time in 2019. Over the same period, victims of gunshot wounds soared to 530, an 138% increase. Robbery, arson and aggravated assault crimes have also increased.

The Minneapolis PD's current staffing levels are at an all-time low, and has lost nearly 300 officers since 2020. The patrol bureau which responds to 911 calls has lost 131 officers. The transition will take a period of 30 days where the mayor would appoint an interim DPS Commissioner, who would work with the city council and the community, as well as combining the police force with public health professionals and other experts.

Good luck with all that. But the good news is this: The My Pillow factory is in Chaska, which is 26 miles from Minneapolis. It will no doubt remain intact while the city burns to the ground.

Crime has surged all over the nation even with cops on duty and getting paid.

We can laugh when one of the gimps gets killed by some 'oppressed victim' and the family sues the cops.

Heavily Dimocrat controlled city may now vote to destroy it's police dept.

Minneapolis votes on whether to replace police department

IMO it's a total disaster waiting to happen, but I'm all for it. I would like to to check back in a year after it takes affect to see how it turned out. Mind you I will stay as far away from Minneapolis as possible.
