For truly good Americans seeing the insanity unfolding in the new Trump Administration and Republican members of Congress largely remaining mum and not trying to stop it raises the question how can these guys be so character depraved how can these guys so readily cast aside behaving like good representatives in Congress! I am referring to the Trump Administration shutting down over ninety percent of the USAID program cutting the staffing level from ten thousand members to below three hundred people; this is largely an humanitarian aid organization they help provide health care to people and vaccinate children sure there is some wasteful and abusive expenditures in the agency but a leader with even a minimum level of good character would make a reasonable attempt to identify the bad expenditures from the good and cut the bad not shutter largely the agency's entire on the ground operations, candidly it is an unconscionable act that is a significant betrayal of humanity! Further, I am referring to things like the Trump administration's offer of buyout packages to essentially the entire staff of the CIA I understand downsizing and reprioritizing but being responsible calls for identifying a specific mission policy plan and reviewing individual staff members file and roles to insure the agency isn't discarding a needed staff member, an employee whose service is needed to fulfill the agency's mission. A major role of the CIA is to identify terrorist threats before they reach America's shores and kill and/or maim Americans, intelligence operatives and analyst that do this work aren't just warm bodies aren't just ordinary joes and janes one can find on the street just advertise the job it will be filled in days, they are uniquely talented and skilled people.

The only thing I can think of for the large scale acquiescence by Republican members of Congress as the Trump Administration turns fundamental elements of our nation's government that are vital to our strength and virtue as a nation and sources of national pride into rubble or saying it another way eviscerates them is that these members of Congress have made some type of commitment, obligation and the like to go along with the Trump administration destruction. They are obligated they are not free to follow their conscience on these matters they have to stay to the side.

This is what I say in regard to any member of Congress and for that matter any elected official in Washington even including the President of the United States and the Vice-President of the United States, if such a person traded away their office to any significant degree, meaning in part, that they are no longer free to follow their conscience on how to act even on one specific issue as long as it is a significant issue and the action would be a significant action, such a person deserves to have the plague (metaphor) befall them to the maximum degree and be cursed to the maximum degree until they are out of office and if they traded away their office before being elected until they permanently drop out of the respective race. I say to such people you are the citizen of a great country the most blessed country by God in the history of the world and your betrayal of such a great country cries out and demands such dire consequences! I would ask these Republican members of Congress that are wearing blinders in our current times how do they think this is going to play out in the mid-term elections; remember contrary to Donald Trump's self-promotion about the 2024 election and his painting it where he was remarkably popular the truth is that in six battleground states he won by less than three and a half percentage points - Wisconsion by .9 %, Michigan by 1.4%, Pennsylvania by 1.7%, Georgia by 2.2%, Nevada by 3.1% and North Carolina by 3.3%. Time and time again the American electorate shows themselves as moderates, the large center isn't a group of extremists idealogues, we are looking for our elected representatives to do what is "good" (normal regular people's meaning of good) and if they don't do what is good we fire them and give the job to a person we believe will meet this standard!
