Eldrick Tont Woods, Racist?

As we ponder the ever-evolving and ever expanding definition of "racist," one wonders what to make of the golfer and international celebrity who goes by the name of "Tiger" Woods. As revealed (again) in the new two-part HBO biography, his social life has been characterized for decades by a near neurotic fixation with not only "white" women, but naturally-blonde haired, young-looking "white" women.

There can be no doubt that in our culture, women meeting that description are generally desired by the greatest number of men, regardless of the age, race, or stylistic preferences of the individual men questioned. In fact, I would posit that ANY American man, given the circumstance of being able to "date" whomever they like (e.g., having great, conspicuous wealth and no conspicuous physical deformity), they would lean toward naturally-blonde haired, young-looking white women. Take a poll of high-profile professional athletes, and there is your proof.

So Woods' pursuits are understandable. But being "African American" as that term is commonly used, isn't it incumbent on him to reject this universal preference and seek out attractive "Black" women - even ones who look "white" - just to satisfy the cultural demands of an extremely-high profile "Black" man?

In short, has he openly and notoriously turned his back on "his People"?

No better example of this phenomenon exists than our soon-to-be Vice President, who is - shall we say - NOT descended from African slaves.

I don’t see what Tiger Woods did that was so horrible.

He had sex with other women. His wife married an international star who had women flock to him. If she can not tolerate it, then go ahead and divorce him. Hardly newsworthy

He was suffering from extreme pain in his back and legs and became addicted to pain killers. More of a condemnation of our pharmaceutical industry.
