This is actually crap.

The women didn't just read stories. They wanted to preach to the children after the stories were over, and the teachers--who didn't sign up for that--protested. Look, I'm an evangelical Christian, but that is WRONG. The woman should have read the story with Linus' speech in it, fine. Not the problem. The problem is she tried to extrapolate there at the end to a captive audience of very small children. SHE may have "free speech" right but the captive children don't have to sit there and listen. The parents did not sign up to have their children evangelized.

You would undoubtedly feel the VERY SAME WAY if a Muslim tried to explain to a group of four year olds why Allah is God.
