Education in Finland

The prob's start when those normal kids that gain a socialist education in other countries compete with normal kids that pay for a capitalist education here.....

I bet our kids can beat their kids at putting condoms on cucumbers

LOL mac!

yup there's that.......lord help us!

but what i was getting at is , we (USofA) reciprocate professional licensure with socialist states.

so our 'kids' who come to fruition are saddled with student debt, while theirs are not

i'm sure you can guess who is more markeatable here...

Thats a more complicated issue than merely free tuition yes or no

I dont know enough about Finland to comment

But I do think our college tuition is unnecessarily expensive

Plus a lot of student debt represents pizza, beer, and spring break vacations.

If you were righteously arguing with Yarddog, who just claimed:
They have turned it into a jobs program for unqualified teachers in our public schools if you want to make the comparison.

To much
^[Too] :sigh2:

then I'd agree with you that private schools generally have little to no State qualification requirements by comparison. In PA, for example:
Pennsylvania currently has two levels of certification. The initial certificate, Level I, is valid for a specific number of service years, during which time you must complete established requirements. Upon completion of those requirements, the Level I may be converted to a Level II certificate. If not converted, the Level I lapses. You cannot be employed in a Pennsylvania public school with a lapsed certificate.

Still, Finland wins with three vs. basically two added graduate level years of study required to be fully accredited here in PA.

There is truth in this.
Bonzi works for a large company that provides meal services to schools all over the United States. They are the biggest player in this business.
There are not only schools providing 2 meals a day - but three. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Because more and more schools have after school programs up until as late as 7pm. So some kids are going to school at 7:30 am - 7:00pm.
Public schools are also getting into the preschool business. There is one here that operates from 6am - 6pm.
Let that sink in.

Of course. At our school, children can be dropped off at 7 AM and stay at after school care until 6 PM. Not many are there for all those hours--but some are, always.

The really heartbreaking stories are the parents who are off work every day at 4:30, but don't pick up until 6. Why even have children?

Finland, also known as Sweden II, is a land of many names, like Dave and Mary, but only one weird and traumatizing coat of arms. The current Prime Minister of Finland is the hot dancing queen Sanna Marin. Footage of her partying with her friends and colleagues went viral. World verdict: Bring more of this on!

Finland also happens to be a rather large country in the North of the even larger country of Europe. Some pro-Finland activists claim that Finland is indeed the entirety of Europe, that the common conception of Europe is a lie concocted by the Soviet Union. However, they also claim that they come from the future, a future where Finland is also the entirety of Europe. Some diehard Germans think Finland is just a territory that the Bavarians try to spread the drunkenness to the land of the North, and these people will probably whine about the victory Sauna placed in Munich. Unfortunately, this is the past of their present and our present of their past, so if that makes any sense to them then perhaps they really ARE from the future.

Finns are famous for being smug and racist. On an unrelated note, Finland is also known as ' the land of the thousand ex-beauty queens and ex-athletes in the government '. All European countries have adopted their culture from Finland, for example its language, which everyone speaks.

Let's send some of our poorest inner city youth to finland, then. I'm sure they have a very liberal immigration policy, perhaps even more liberal than ours if that is possible. After all, they are European and thus far more compassionate than we.

So they can take in as many foreigners as we send and provide them the same high quality education. Thats what we are expected to do in the United states. I would look forward to seeing how Finland does it so we can copy their methods with their own foreign population of students.

Why do leftists always want to compare tiny European countries (ethnostates) with the USA? There is NO American public school system. Individual states control public schools and then down to the local level.

And of course the OP is lying when he she or it states that private schools don't exist in Finland.

International Schools & Private Schools in Finland

Since August 2020, more than 18,000 users have shared on social media claiming that private education in Finland is “forbidden” , “eliminated” or “abolished” . In September 2021 it circulated again, but it is false: Finland does have private schools. What is prohibited is basic education for profit.
The statements circulating on Facebook about the Finnish education system are diverse. "A few years ago, Finland abolished private education," this user writes . “Finland has the best education in the world and private education is prohibited, all education from kindergarten to university is PUBLIC” , says another of the sentences ( 1 , 2 , 3 ).

Another version, shared again in September 2021 by thousands of users, states : “Private schools are prohibited in Finland. Since rich children must go to the same school as poor children, their parents make sure that the schools are excellent .
