It ain't Portland. The interior minister said protesters face criminal prosecution. Be advised it was not 1,700 protesters. That is just the number of protesters caught and locked up.

Protesting against President Putin in Russia is many orders of magnitude safer then disagreeing with Progressives on an American campus.

What's never brought up is that at the same time. The Soviet Union invaded Poland from the east side. Basically meeting Germany in the middle to each share half of Poland.

President Putin also denounces Cancel Culture which was in USSR during Joseph Stalin's Rule, particularly 1937. He also says that Russians must not feel ashamed of their History. Fortunately 1937 is a long time in the past.

I wasn’t familiar with tbe name so looked him up. It seems there was a bit more to it than “disagreeing with progressives”…was it misusing research subjects or having an unpopular opinion? But what is clear is that it wasn’t the government but his peers involved.

To a degree Uighurs in China and Chechens in Russia have been treated worse then other ethnicities.

An average Chinese citizen who criticizes Communism in 2020s, or a Soviet citizen who told obscene jokes about Leonid Brezhnev in 1970s faced much lower consequences then any American professor who disagrees with Progressives.

You are describing Hitler. And the so called "Russian separatists" are akin to Hitler's Sudetenland and Germans in Poland. We see the comparisons. We see that Biden is the new Lord Chamberlain genuflecting to the antiwar liberals and Putin that's gone terribly awry.

Maybe you ought to tune in to the News Hour on PBS, BBC America and some other sources of real news.

Actually, Soviet Union didn't invade Poland. They recognized end of existence of Polish state and then took under their protection lands of the Western Ukraine and Western Belorussia, previously captured by Poland. What is even more important - Poland ceased SU-Poland non-aggression pact by attack against Soviet ally - Czechoslovakia and annexation of Cieszyn region.
That's why no one declared war to the USSR, and, even Polish Army didn't resist them.
