Dysfunctional Parenting = Dysfunctional Education

It seems to me that the exaggerated effect that college (and some high school) teachers have on many student is the result of dysfunctional parenting, wherein the lack of a competent parents at home leaves students without any independent means of evaluating what or how they are being taught. As a result, these teachers may represent the only authoritative source of information they have ever received. Unfortunately, this provides an opportunity for unscrupulous individuals to present their own beliefs to students without any countervailing information on the subject. Is it any wonder that these people are drawn to the idea of preaching to a captive audience?

Ironically, the same dysfunctional parenting is what led these malleable students to become professors themselves. And the beat goes on...
