To the extent this is true, great.

But I think Max's fear that the Republicans are co-opting white nationalist issues is premature. Tancredo is strong but I don't think enough Republicans get it. Look at how many are wishy-washy on the immigration bill about to pass... and give 20 million illegals amnesty.

Decades and decades ago, traditional Republicans were accused of anti-Semitism, and Jews fled into the Democrat party in droves. Then after 1964, Republican politicians one after the other were accused of playing "race cards" and Black voters fled into the Democrat party in droves. Now we have the implication that Republicans like Frist are playing, if I may, the "tortilla card" and what we will see happen is Hispanic voters fleeing to the liberal Democrats in droves. The immigrant issue is dynamite. Alienate the Hispanic voter base and it will not only lean further toward the liberal Democrats, it will create the greatest voter registration drive in years. Only about 35% of Hispanic Americans vote in national elections, much less than white or Black voters who are at 50% roughly. Want to get Hispanic voters up to 50% next time around? Think Bush and Rove and McCain aren't sweating this one out?
