Duke blew a six point lead over Houston with 30 seconds remaining by not being able to inbound a pass three times in a row. Any well-coached team should have more than one inbound play against a full court press. Forget about Cooper Flagg's missed shot, the Duke coach should have prepared his team with alternate inbound plays. For example, the ball can be passed to another player who is out of bounds and can then make a pass during the defensive confusion. Instead, Duke looked like a mediocre high school team trying to inbound the ball.

I laughed how Duke pissed that away.

People can bitch about the calls, but it almost always cuts both ways.

I remember the title game a few years ago. Wisconsin-Duke. Ryan's Badgers were a very disciplined team. They were known for hard defense without fouling. They committed only two fouls in the first half. Before Kruh zew ski went in the locker room at halftime, he gave the refs an earful.

And what happened? The refs caved. All the no-fouls in the first 20 minutes were suddenly being called in the second 20 minutes. I can't exactly blame Kruh Zew Ski. He's a big cry baby, but his ploy worked.

But Wisconsin still had their chances in the second half, especially as time would down. That's that way it goes.

How about a long pass beyond half court and have your two fastest guards sprint after it? Even if Houston gets the ball, precious seconds tick off as the set up a play the other way.

Especially if you can run around a screen and catch them messed up on switching defenders. I think FLA was doing that to AUB?
