Complain when it turns on us? Do you hear yourself, your last little statement belies the rest of your post. You place the blame solely on those you think 'created' terrorists for all of their actions and behavior. 'Of course not' my ass, you absolutely believe they are justified in their actions and you support them, apologize for them, explain why they do what that do as if that justifies the behavior.
I'd like to respond to those accusation levelled at
Deadstick if I may.
The United States is culpable here, it has lied and lied and lied to the American public for decades - both democrat and republican administrations. The US long ago embraced the Monroe Doctrine and that has dominated our foreign policy.
It's been said before in this thread that the US created, supported Muslim extremists and this is a matter of record, you can reject the claim I don't care but the truth is out there for anyone who cares to think for themselves.
Fanatical Muslim extremists have traditionally been little more than background noise in the Middle East, just as we have fringe extremists here in the US, they are there but rarely amount to much. But when the US actively supplies and trains and encourages such extremists to organize and fight an enemy that also happens be one of our designated enemies, then we are no longer dealing with fringe political ideas but a capable military force.
In many cases we eventually tire of these groups, once our goals have been met, we want them to go away but they don't they eventually grow to potent political forces with a structured ideology and in some cases that ideology understands that the US is a threat to it and this is what we have.
Terrorism is the use of violence and fear and intimidation to coerce a population and government, to act in a way that suits the long term goals of the terrorists, when "we" do it to "them" that we call it things like "the war on terror" or before that the "war against communism" and so on. When "they" do it to "us" we call it terrorism, fanaticism, radicalism etc.
All along (and the press and media play along too) this is represented, portrayed,
framed at a very high level as "good" (us) versus "evil" (them) and the gullible uneducated American public obediently accept that "explanation". That is pretty much the situation here and has been for many years.
