In the early 2000s, China had extremely poor air quality as a result of rapid industrialisation, leading to a public outcry in the run-up to the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In response, Chinese authorities fitted scrubbers to coal power plants to curb the dirtiest emissions and tightened rules governing vehicle exhausts, leading to a 75 per cent drop in sulphate emissions.

But there is a sting in the tail of this environmental success story. According to a new analysis, China’s dirty air had inadvertently been cooling the planet, and now that it is gone we are starting to see a greater warming effect
.

Not the kinda news story the climate brigade wants to hear. So now what? Everyone back to coal plants?

Edit - if you're up against a paywall on the link, I've added an archive link to the article.

Apparently, they gave up, because when I was in Beijing in 2018 it was so polluted you couldn't even see the tops of the buildings.

Remember when they said beef tallow, butter, and whole milk was bad for you?

So here, cook in vegetable oil (mostly soybean oil), spread soybean oil and chemicals on your bread in the form of margarine, and drink what amounts to white water.

How do we measure 0.05ºC? ... go spend the $4 for a Walmart unit and see if you can measure 0.05ºC ...

Look at a box of Cheerios ... see where it says "heart-healthy"? ... now check the salt content ... yeah, Cheerios are the WORST thing you can eat if you have a heart problem ...

Soybeans cause cancer ... haven't you heard yet? ...

The jury is out on that but the perception is exactly why vegetable oil is not called soybean oil on the label.

Imagine breathing that toxic air...all in thr name of some corporate heads making a buck. When that happens average people lose.
