This Man was a legend who went above and beyond, he lost his legs in a flying accident but still became a top RAF pilot in WW2 and ended the War in Colditz Castle Oflag IV- C a POW camp for officers who had repeatedly escaped or tried to. it's said years after the War he was invited to a German Wartime Pilots reunion and said on entering the hall i didn't know we left so many of you bastards alive.
