"Don't Say Gay": Florida schools purge library books with True stories of animals adopting offspring.

Do you let your children read anything they want?
False comparison fallacy.

It’s neither the role nor the responsibility of the state to dictate to citizens what they may or may not read.

It’s also not the role of the state to propagate bigotry and hate, which is what Florida Republicans are doing by banning books in schools.

Wrong. Not every book is appropriate for school age children. Why are there age restrictions on movies?

A false comparison fallacy occurs when an attempt is made to compare two different, unrelated things.

In this case private citizens not subject to the First Amendment and government – schools – which are subject to the First Amendment; public schools seeking to ban books is an un-Constitutional abuse of government authority.

It's not a false comparison. Tell the class why there are age restrictions on movies released in public theaters. Go ahead.

It’s also a red herring fallacy – a failed attempt to deflect from the topic.

And the topic is hateful, bigoted Republicans who use the authority of the state to attack gay and transgender Americans, not what private citizens might do.

But your failed, dishonest attempt to deflect is understandable.

Wrong again. Society has restrictions on what is presented to children. You don't like the fact that I used movie codes to destroy your argument. Understandable. Nap time for you, kid.

Too funny...Florida pulled a book..a true story..about a same-sex couple..err..a couple of male penguins that is, who bond together and raise a baby penguin. Apparently, they believe that this true story is somehow 'sexual instruction', according to their new, 'Don't say Gay' law.

In Lake County, for example, the school district has removed three books with alleged LGBTQ themes from libraries. The school district claimed the removal of these books was required "due to content regarding sexual orientation/gender identification prohibited in HB 1557," the Parental Rights in Education Act.
These books do not involve "sexual instruction." One book that was removed, And Tango Makes Three, is the true story of two male Penguins, Roy and Silo, who lived in the Central Park Zoo. The pair build a nest together, and — after the zookeeper provides them with an egg — they raise an adopted child, Tango. There is no sexual content in the book.
sounds like the school district went a little to far

Another state in the old Confederacy that we would be better off without. If Abe knew then what we know now, he might`ve cut them all loose.

The word gay doesn't appear in the bill.

That's a catchphrase concocted by people who hate republicans to make it sound worse than it is. It's only intention is to protect children while in public schools and to keep schools teaching what they should be teaching.
