Those making:


$30,000 per year will pay 1 percent in federal income taxes

$30,000 to $100,000 will pay 5 percent

$100,000 to $1 million will pay 10 percent

$1 million or above will pay 15 percent


That's it. Nothing more.

Where did the money go? It certainly didn't go to infrastructure, science or education. Maybe you should figure this out before wanting to axe core areas that help America remain on top.

I think it needs a bit of tweaking, it doesn't generate enough revenue. But I DO like the idea of a simple tax code with no deductions and no exemptions.

Lets say I have a $500,000 income. Under the current system I deduct $50K in mortgage interest, another $52K in contributions to a retirement plan, plus another $50k in charitable donations and other deductions. My "taxable income" has been reduced by $152,000 and I pay tax on the remaining 348K - the effective tax rate on $348,000 income (married filing jointly) under the current code is 26.08% - so I would pay $90,744 in federal tax

Now imagine we used Trump's system :
first 30K -1% of 30,000 = $300
30K- 100k - 5% of 70,000= $3500
100K -500k- 10% of 400,000= $40,000
Total $43,800

As much as I would enjoy a 50% tax cut, that's a big gap to fill.....

No, he is a liar who is good at scamming. Businesses and even large corporations go broke from mismanagement and waste every day. That is what the bail outs were all about. That is what bankruptcy is all about. Trump had to claim bankruptcy four times. That means on four occasions he went broke from mismanagement and waste and had to be rescued and bailed out.
