Lots to deconstruct in this clip. But I was especially struck by Tamara Keith claiming that "the second he admits . . . that he is not going to be in office in 2028 . . . then he becomes a lame duck. If he loses his shine, he loses his power."
First of all, Wham Tam, unless he dies, Trump will certainly be in office in 2028. His term runs from 2025-2028 and ends in January 2029. His 2nd term, anyway.
Second, a "lame duck" is a president who lost his re-election bid but still serves between first Wednesday in November, and the next prez' inauguration day. It is absurd to say Donald Trump will lose his power if he is not going to be re-elected in 2028, because no one but you and the other morons on that set think it is a real possibility.
Third, Trump's power does not stem from his official title, but from his ability to get things done while holding - or not holding - that title. He will be a big factor in who becomes the next GOP nominee, and thus the next president. That president will be beholden to Trump and will seek and follow his advice.
PS: I looked at her wiki page to see her credentials. Very slim. An MA in Journalism from UC Berkely, and nothing else to speak of. Graduated High School early and finished her BA in three years. After than, nothing.
I was shocked to see that she was born in 1979, she's 17 years younger than I. I'm 63, and if we were sitting together, people would guess that she was my mother-in-law.
By Allah! The drug scene at Berkely must have taken its toll.
