Plastic is a component in a cell phone, it is important, but it doesn't make cell phones any more than demand creates jobs.

You cannot create jobs without demand, present or future, but demand will NEVER create jobs on it's own. Demand as an available market to sell to, or anticipated demand as a future market, are vital components to job creation. They are but one component, and not the most vital.
