Back in the 1940s and 1950s the United States used to be the world leader in the STEEL industry. What happened, not enough consumer spending to sustain all those jobs? Doesn't appear that all that "trickle up" spending was really the hope and answer to creating solid jobs in this country.

This is yet another example where LoneLaughter's trickle up belief holds no weight. It's not looking too good in your favor atm. When exactly HAS trickle up and specifically "government" succeeded in sustaining a strong economy on their own ...without wealthy investors and creative innovators?
