The People of the United States, via the DOJ, seeks to recover the $2.6 billion in federal funds Harvard received while in violation of Title VI. Among the charges:

- Harvard selectively enforced its own campus rules by allowing the assaults and harassment of Jewish students to continue by students, faculty, and visitors.

- Harvard ignored its own Committee to Combat Antisemitism’s findings that Israeli and pro-Israel students were excluded from social spaces and extracurricular activities

- Harvard failed to meaningfully discipline the mobs of students who occupied buildings and terrorized Jewish students

Basically, the DOJ is seeking a "do-over" of previously failed lawsuits against Harvard.

Harvard has petitioned the court to transfer this newest DOJ filing to the docket of United States District Judge Allison D. Burroughs who previously ruled that the Trump administration unconstitutionally withheld more than $2.6 billion in research funding to Harvard and ordered that the funding be delivered to the University.
