I don’t wanna sound negative. DOGE has found waste and slush funds. Good work so far. But we have a monumental debt.
So, we cannot rest just on this kind of work. While it’s true that we have to also wade through Democrap Party abuse of the judicial system, which slows down progress, we are still failing to address this massive spending problem.
We absolutely must start addressing how much we spend. The discussion has to be serious and treated with dire urgency. This necessitates hard work. What are we spending on? Where can we significantly trim those budgets?
No more continuing resolutions. True budgets! And make sure they’re balanced. And make sure every budget bill first pays down some of the fucking debt’s interest. No more borrowing (except maybe in time of war or similar emergencies). Pay down some of the principal. Then (but only then) crunch the numbers for the things we need (like defense, our courts, etc.) and maybe trim even those amounts (reasonably).

The 155 Billion is in waste, duplicate payments, and fraud. Abuse? Well that's congresses job. But Elon has pointed out that there are budget items that have been dead for a long time (Like the Berlin Wall) but still getting an allotment of funds every budget cycle.
Not to mention all the fraudulent SS numbers and funds.
Then there's the streamlined And updated software. So that dead people can be dead.
The funds allocated to terrorists have been stopped....Hamas is claiming poverty now that they aren't getting hundreds of millions of $$$ every month. The Taliban is considering installing a Halal McDonald's and Subway sandwich shop because their money has been cut off too. No Salami or Ham but they do have lamb and are enjoying the Tuna as they haven't had such before.

Doge is the start to addressing how much is spent. It starts with a bang and then the congress must get down to business of being extremely careful with the budget.
I liken this to when I was on the Budget committee of one of the nation's largest Realtor operation in the SF Bay Area. I arrived to see a hell of a mess. It took us a year to solve the mess and get the group on a sane solid footing. I know how it works.
