I didn't find a dog lovers thread, so thought I'd start one.

A fun little video here to start off with.....

My apologies if somebody already gave this link into this discussion.......
but if not......
you may well find this to be extremely interesting and encouraging. This was my daughter's all time favourite near death experience account that I read to her when she was very young.

If I remember correctly I think it was Dr. Ken Ring who found out that about one NDE in six involves a meeting with a previously deceased pet.

This is especially true when a child has a brush with death.

Dogs, they need that scent. They don't really recognize you by sight alone, they go more by voice and scent. Once they catch a few olfactory molecules off of you, BINGO, they are home and know for sure who you are.
Good one is video's of soldiers coming off a long deployment. Many of the times they don't until they get close. I love those videos.

Dogs have a fantastic smell memory. A large part of their brain is dedicated to processing scent. Think about it: put a pack of a dozen dalmatians or shepherds together and they all pretty much look alike to us, it can be hard for us to tell them apart, but to another dog, they easily know each one of them from the other.

Likewise, one guy in uniform pretty much looks like most others to a dog until they have time to collect visual, auditory and olfactory clues to make a positive ID.

Research has shown that dogs can even diagnose disease and illness in people, they can SMELL it.

My parents had a cat; the night before my father passed away, their cat woke up, ran across the room and jumped up and laid down on my father's legs. She never did that before.
