The Democrats are celebrating the passage in the House that would require release of whatever materials exist in the Epstein case.

But that's not the end of it. The Senate has to approve it. Most indications are that it will pass there too.

But then the bill would go to Trump. Does he sign it or veto it?

What’s next in Congress on the push to release the Epstein files

So certain the Senate will pass it....

It wouldn't be a good look if he vetoes it, but he's not running for re-election. IF he did something wrong, this would be more important to him than how this would play in the midterms.

Also, after the way Bondi and Patel have downplayed the materials, if Trump lets the materials see the light of day, and if they're bad, would pretty much wreck them, wouldn't it?

Let's just get this over with, one way or the other. But if there's a bunch of rich and powerful assholes in those materials, I think we should know about it. And they should pay a price.

Sorry but this seems like a rethorical question to me.

As of now Trump is already publicly agitating against the Epstein files being released. So what makes you think he'll balk at using his veto power if that's what it takes.

A respect for Democratic norms? Respect or caring what others think?

Trump's superpower is that he can weather any scandal precisely because he has disdain for any norms. That will not change.

I think the only way he vetoes it is if he broke a law. And I doubt that happened. If whatever he did was sleazy and ugly and shitty, the American people have already given him a pass on all that. Or maybe he doesn't want Melania to see something.

But if there are guys who helped Epstein/Maxwell with the trafficking, and/or had sex with minors, or abused women, then I would love to see all the perp walks. So would my daughters. This guy was the P Diddy of politics/finance.

If your theory is correct he would not agitate now. The fact that he is means he won't. That simple.

It's all political. The media only tells us what they want us to know. It's like when they blame inflation or the shutdown on Trump-Republicans. Their bias has created an expectation that has our non-thinking populace excited for a Trump takedown. Of course, it's all bullshit but they will spin it as an indictment against Trump and the dummies will all shit themselves in their excitement. It doesn't matter if it's true because the Marxists objective is just to interrupt anything Trump is doing. Obstruction, plain and simple. It's the dumb commie's way.

You should see what's going on in the UK where idiots are being brainwashed even worse than the US.

The left and Democratic norms.

Thanks for that belly laugh.

A president vetoing a bill is one of our oldest Democratic norms.

It has not passed. The Discharge petition forces a vote on it, if no one takes their signature off of it. From your own link:

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House is speeding toward a vote next week on releasing files related to the sex trafficking investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, a step that comes after months of resistance from Republican leaders.
