In my lifetime, I have seen cigarette smoking drop from almost 50 percent to around 10 percent.

But I rarely see anyone chewing gum anymore.
Used to be there were dozens of chewing gums with around.Every kid knew how to blow bubbles with good ole Bazooka Bubble Gum.
There was gum at every checkout, gumball machines, gum in your baseball cards.
There was gum on the sidewalks, under tables

I never see adults or kids chewing gum anymore

got no teeth so no gum for me but I used to love chewing gum

Even as a child I never cared for chewing gum just bought the ones with baseball cards threw away the gum.
When it comes to candy I prefer hard candy or a really good candy bar. I use to frequent the upscale mall candy stores but they are a thing of the past.

My wife does. Often. Of course we had to find a brand that didn't stick to her dental work, but that was no problem.

Too many joint problems to chew that much. I'm lucky to get through a tough steak these days.

Hey rw, sweetie!

As kids, my brother and I used to love to chew gum when out of our parents sight. The only place they would let us chew gum was in our bedrooms. Never in public. I loved double mint the best and also bubble gum. He and I would always compete to see who could blow the biggest bubbles. lol

Fast forward to today, you are right. I NEVER see anyone chewing gum. However, I DO still chew occasionally but with a sensible purpose. ( And never in public---old habits die hard? ) If I am craving sweet carbs, and I don't want to put on pounds, I reach for sugarless gum, only to chew for a few minutes to get that SWEET burst of artificial sugar flavor and that satisfies my craving for ANYTHING sweet. Then I toss it. My favorite brand is EXTRA! I keep several flavors of that brand around. Peppermint is my choice of late. If my weight reading from that morning is where I want it, then I will have some real sweet carbs. :) 🍰

Hugs, and Merry Christmas,

🧁

Only 10 percent for cigarettes? That’s surprising. That can’t be including vape products

I'm chewing gum right now, try a brand named 5, it's sugar free and the flavor tends to last longer.

It's good to chew after a meal as it helps get out food stuck in your teeth as well as bad breath.
Not for me but that sounds better than Juicy Fruit or bubble gum. I've seen golfers chew gum on the course to help them relax.

Bazooka Joe was a lot better than Double Bubble.
I chew gum on occasion, usually a spearmint, as it keeps my smoker breath at bay.
Lots of ball player chew gum, after making them stop chewing tobacco and spitting, sunflower seed hulls is pretty gross.

My dentist said chewing gum, even sugarless is terrible. It adds alot extra stress to teeth.

Kids still chew gum, and it is still at the checkout and in gumball machines.
