I may be the most experienced with politicians on this very forum. I hated Nixon for being a republican. I was then a super loyal Democrat. I personally met my public speaking teacher in high school who happened to have been a mayor of Hayward, Ca and later in the House of the California congress. He did not keep chatting politics to we students but he sure could get on our nerves. After him, I met Bill Lockyer who then was in the CA house of representatives and tried to talk to him about CA education. He showed up because we paid for his fine dinner.
Bill no more gave a shit about education than your current crop of democrats. He refused to discuss it at all. What he wanted to talk to me about was Bridge tolls. I am not kidding. What realtor did not want to discuss tolls? Not me nor the others in my group. I did not talk to but I was one of a group of Directors who listened to Leon Panetta give us one of his speeches. He showed up for our swearing in as directors of the CA association of ?Realtors and we collectively represented 135,000 people.

It should be that way, but it isn't. He has been given the keys to the city and it's inner workings, whether it is legal or not. Sometimes the difference between legal and illegal is whether prosecuted. It is clear, Trump owes him and is repaying, for paying for the trump campaign. It was an election cycle where rank and file, long term Republican donors, simply would not contribute at previous levels, that would sustain an effective nationwide presidential campaign. So, without Elon forking up 64 Plus Percent of the campaign funding, he paid for the victory, and bought the control, he desired.

I too, submit my opinion, giving direct access control to the Federal payment system is beyond the pale. But, with trump pick in DOJ having more loyalty to Trump than the country, it is unlikely any action will be taken. It simply boils down to how far trump allows Elon to go.
