Do you trust the government in general.

Non-partisan question.

This has nothing to do with politics. Nothing to do with President Obama.

This is just in general.

For the purposes of this poll, the government is controlled by your party.

You people don'ttrust yourselves?

Or you don't trust your neighbors?

Both?

My neighbors and I aren't the government.

And that thinking id the reason this country went down the fucking crapper

First of all, we aren't a democracy. We are a "representative" democracy, meaning other people govern us that we choose. However, we don't even even have that choice. Gerrymandering and the two-party system robs us of that, as well as FPTP voting. We have next to no say in our government.

For all those answering "no" please send me those pieces of paper in your wallet that say "legal for debts public and private."
Also, stop signing contracts, which depend on the government for enforcement.
Stop throwing checks into those slots marked US Mail.
Stop taking airplanes, which rely on government workers to get there safely.
Quit voting.
And a host of other things.

It depends on the answer to the question: Trust them to do what?
Do I trust that government officials will always have my best interests at heart? No.
Do I trust that the gov't will be full and forthcoming with me? No.
Do I trust that promises made by politicians will be honored? No.
But the basic framework works fine.

You have a point that we have next to no say in our government.

But in the absence of government, you have absolutely no say.

If you could read the choices, it says "for the most part"...

Are you always this fucking thick?

1)all systems are ultimately democracies

2)'We are a "representative" democracy' proves my point

In the absence of government, we have absolute control. Of course, that is why government was derived in the first place.
