The N7 is basically an American soldier in space!
 
Science fiction is a pretty broad genre, encompassing multiple artistic forms. Some may glorify the military, but certainly not all of it does. Very odd thread.

Many of our technological advances were first written about in science fiction. Cellphones are just one example.

It can be. THe desire for large scale action often leads to a lot of military style roles.


But just as often is can be used to paint them as the bad guys, see Avatar.
 
Not at all; Avatar insulted the military in a glaring, childish way by making them one-dimensional stereotypes. Did movies like Forbidden Planet, 2001, the majority of Star Trek movies or Alien have anything to do with the military? No.

Some of them, yes.
