No, I don't believe all individuals are created equally. For example, IQ is generally thought to be a trait from birth. It follows a normal distribution, so not all are equal in intelligence.

But I DO believe that all men are created equally in deserving an opportunity to succeed at life, whatever success is to them personally.

No, the people in Montana are more equal than the people in Texas.

At least in the U.S. Senate.

We all have differences, but that is not really what I am after, though you did hit it with your last sentence.

I do believe all are created equal, just as our Constitution, and the Bible states.

The straight answer if fuck no.

That is why we, like other primates are subject to dominance hierarchies, and no matter what form of government, fascist, communist, socialist, anarchistic, corporate, democratic, one finds dominance hierarchies.

Why?

Because I keep telling you people despite our nice constitutions and philosophical pretensions, we are really not that far down from the trees.

Hell, I prefer the view up there.

The idea behind the statement isn't that we are all cut from the same cloth but that we ought all to be treated the same in terms of justice.

Well, any real justice starts with the Machiavellian principal we are not all equal and so the weak must be represented, protected.

Of course if one looks at the US justice system dominance hierarchies rule yet again, both in its application and administration.

And those Limits as crafted by the Founders were pointed at Government, rather than the PEOPLE. Agreed?

The founders pointed those limits both at government and the mob, believe me most of the founders were just as fearful of the people as they were of the government, (because they were at the top on the dominance hiearchy) indeed more so. Ever wonder why so many "founders" entered government to govern "the people".

You miss the point of it all. This isn't about how we act..who has more money..etc.
It isn't about what we have done. Or how our lives are.

Do you think there are ones you are better than? Are there ones better than you?
