A bullet to the head scrambles the brain, does it stay scrambled?
A torturous life messes up our humanity, hard to feel sorry for someone else when your life is shit. Does it messes up our thinking in the afterlife? A life of pain and torture messes with the head, the spirit too? Or do we get "fixed" amnesia in the afterlife where our lives didn't matter?

Strangely enough there is evidence that all of us agree to certain serious risks even before we are conceived and given a body here on this earth.

Volunteering to go through all of those things could be one part of somebody's "Mission" in life.

b. Mission Information Revealed by the Being of Light

Some NDErs describe encountering a Being of Light who gives them a life review where their mission is revealed in profound detail. Other NDErs learn from the Being of Light that their mission cannot be revealed. Either way, the NDEr usually forgets the details of their mission upon returning to earthly life.

During her life review, Lynnclaire Dennis was informed by the Being of Light of her mission in life – a rare occurrence in NDEs – because often the NDEr is told they cannot know it or that they will be made to forget it upon return. In Lynnclaire’s case, a Being of Light she refers to as “The Presence” revealed to her a special mission she was to perform: “Lynnclaire, you will be a catalyst for change, for love. You will bring forth, hold, and honor remembrance. You will bring to conscious awareness the realms, realities, and remnants in order that the spirit may remember the dance.” Her NDE encounter with the Light, which she refers to as “The Pattern”, led to a scientific discovery involving the topology of the Light.

The Being of Light told Lisa M. during her life review that her mission is to learn and practice love, and to help others: Lisa encountered a radiant male Being of Light who radiated unearthly, unconditional love. The Being revealed her entire life in a single, instantaneous vision and gently reminded her of her true purpose: to grow in love and compassion, to express these qualities on Earth, and to help others however she could.

Dennis, what scripture do you base this theory on?

Is your torturous life due to bad choices you've made? If so, change your trajectory. Are you the recipient of misfortune through no fault of your own? Either way, there is something you can do:
Turn to Jesus. His yoke is light and easy to bear, and you seem to have nothing to lose. Repent of any wrong doing and accept the gift of salvation. You can put your past behind you, because your future is bright.

You are who you will be for all eternity. Your memory will not be effected. But as bad as it has been, eternal bliss will dry your tears, hand you a crown, and you will be known as a child of the Most High. < a strong child who bore his cross on earth, in order to rule and reign as a co-heir with Christ. Grab it and hold on to it.

we are but one part of a whole individual?

I was cursed at birth Bipolar, mis diagnosed as acdc. I didn't get properly diagnosed until my mid 30's after a screed up life based on fear and anger. I lost a toe to gangrene then a leg to mirza. Then I got put in a broken bed by cna staff and left in it begging and screaming to be let out only to be paralyzed below the biceps with 3 dislocated vertebrae and a broken nerve bundle. so what part of that was my choice?

empty promises. after I die it will be too late to ask for a refund. Meanwhile I'm in a nursing home here the staff all hate their jobs and take it out on me.

I am sorry about your health. Sounds like you have had a tough time of it. Do you have family close by? Would a different home be a viable option for you?

Yes Titusville, Royal Oaks I asked to be transferred but I guess they don't want me or the waiting list is long.

This is why the challenge is to overcome the evil around us so that we do not embrace and take on the incarnation of evil ourselves. Distractions, our own stresses and life struggles can bruise and wound ones empathy, we cannot capitulate to the desired persona that evil forces want from us. Evil is perhaps winning at the moment. It is up to Good Men to ensure it does not ultimately succeed.

You either turn to God for help or suffer alone.

Either way you suffer, why not take the chance on God who may be able to help you in this life and the life to come.

Reminds me of the two thieve on the cross next to Jesus. Both were condemned to die a torturous death. One asked Jesus to remember him in the next life to which Jesus said he would welcome him into his kingdom. The other thief, however, cursed at Christ and yelled that if you are really the Son of God get us the #### off these crosses!!!

Both had to go through it either way for reasons they could not comprehend.

Slyhunter, what nursing home are you in? And what city. Are you on SSI or Medicare? How do you pay the nursing home you are in? Do you mind me asking your age?
I took a look at Royal Oaks, and the reviews were truly horrendous. It sounds like your place on steroids.

Interesting question I have thought about this. When there is damage to the brain and we die the damage no longer exists. THat would involve mental illness dementia trauma cancer etc. We have examples called terminal lucidity. Thats condition when a brain is so severely damaged there is no memory personality nothing. Then suddenly it all returns. Then a day or 2 later the person dies

First of all, this is all subjective with no real proof of anything concerning the afterlife, if there even is one. My take is that when you die, so does your brain; but somehow or other your memories are stored somewhere for every life you have lived. All the pain and emotions are gone, no fear, no guilt, no joy either. So it's dispassionate; apparently your spirit/soul determines what you experienced and learned and what you need to do in your next one. It could be that some spirit/souls require some downtime and repair treatment to deal with a past life that included a lot of trauma and suffering.

How are you using the computer if you are paralyzed below the biceps?
my arms are above the biceps.
Besides my feelings and ability to move has improved over the past 3 years. The proper diagnosis is immobile not paralyzed.

space coast rehab in Merritt island. they are all bad in this county. Royal Oaks has an Ice Cream churn every Tuesday.

I have VA which covers home care but not long term nursing home care and Medicaid. Medicare starts in March. I still can't feel or move my lower right leg. If I could I could go home and take care of myself with home care nursing people visiting several times weekly. My pubic, body catheter is permeant.

fyi it's $447 per day for care. Medicare has a $442 per day deductible for long term care which Medicaid pays. VA would cover everything if I went home but nobody there is capable of taking care of me right now.

No joy. :(
