Learn to read the gun laws. The laws are there. It's an enforcement problem.

We have laws against felons, the mentally ill, and other classes owning guns. Run a background check. Enforcement is the answer, not stripping law-abiding citizens of their rights.
You and I both know that won't work. There is something in that background check,it will come out and I bet it has something to do with his trips to the ME
It would work just fine. Germany has very strict background checks for gun ownership. And even though Germany has 17 million privately owned guns, they have less than 300 gun homicides a year compared to our 11,000.
