Religiously unaffiliated subjects had significantly more lifetime suicide attempts and more first-degree relatives who committed suicide than subjects who endorsed a religious affiliation. Unaffiliated subjects were younger, less often married, less often had children, and had less contact with family members. Furthermore, subjects with no religious affiliation perceived fewer reasons for living, particularly fewer moral objections to suicide. In terms of clinical characteristics, religiously unaffiliated subjects had more lifetime impulsivity, aggression, and past substance use disorder. - Religious Affiliation and Suicide Attempt, American Journal of Psychiatry, December, 2004

How are you proposing to reach out and help these lost souls OP?

Or is your goal to simply gloat and even rejoice in this news?

I only have a 9th grade education maybe that is why I can't understand what your point is.
It is not "my" point. It is a scientific finding by the psychiatrists of America that atheists are more miserable, more depressed, more suicidal than Christians or Jews, who make up the majority of Americans.

Famous and wealthy author, Ernest Hemingway, wrote, "Every thinking man is an atheist." He then married and divorced three times, and put his shotgun in his mouth in the house with his fourth wife and pulled the trigger. Does that sound like the actions of a "thinking man"?

I don't believe good is all good, all powerful.

But... on most days I am a cheerful half agnostic.

ChemEngineer has an opinion, and that is all it is.
