I admit that I was somewhat under informed in how important a role Dr. Billy Graham played in helping most Christian churches to be fully racially integrated.

I am so glad that I saw this film a couple of months ago.

I am right now listening to this again for the second time. The life of Dr. Billy Graham is an important part of modern world history.

I think he wished that he would have done more.

I put this on the Billy Graham thread. He was an amazing servant of the Lord.
It is a view of over 1 million people showing up to hear him in Korea. Miles in each direction.

Clearly he was a good guy but why force to races who are not the same together instead of letting
themselves choose if they want to or not?
nobody should be forced into something that is uncomfortable
the people decide

any sociologist would tell you for the most part people DON"T want to integrate at all

they feel comfortable with their same race, religion, culture, national identity and history

it's like comfort food and that also play a large role in it as well

I took a class of sociology in college, great teacher
I did very well and it was actually really interesting

Exactly.

That's why a lot of whites were and still are against integration, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and the Civil Rights movement.

They want to Make America Great Again.

Heil, MAGA!

civil rights were not about blending blacks and whites, it was about blacks getting a fair shake as equal citizens

one could argue it worked, football, basketball, actors who many are black and worth millions

then you still have the poor blacks who are not smart, turn to drugs and crime

but you also have poor whites too who do the same thing

same situation, same outcome........different skin color, culture, all of it

not everybody can be doctors or lawyers, you still have the low end work force
barely educated for basic labor

just real open eye logic at play

I absolutely agree with you that Dr. Billy Graham himself certainly wished to have done more.

I even believe that Dr. Billy Graham would probably liked to have stopped many Baptist churches from the policy of kicking people out if they begin to "speak in tongue" as many Pentecostals and Charismatic Catholics have done all across the racial and ethnic spectrum.

Do you think those people were forced there to listen to him?
That is a million people showing up to hear about Christ. Do they look uncomfortable?

Jesus is non-denominational. We all need Him...

I was not there in the 60's, maybe they were and pretended not to be
blacks also had their own churches, nobody forced them into a white church

In other area's yes they probably were and do where whites as well

That is why in the south they have black churches

this is sociology, everybody feels more comfortable around their own kind

even natives had their own tribes and they fought and killed each other often

I've attended a number of churches where I was virtually the only white face in the room. I really enjoyed those churches. Whites are truly welcomed in churches where more than ninety percent of the church members are Black.

maybe today but I doubt in the 60's

True, even here in Canada the races were much more divided back in the fifties and sixties. The seventies seemed to be a major time of transition when it comes to racism in Canada and the USA.
