Did you know that Dick van Dyke only has a high school education and at that, didn't actually get his high school graduation diploma until almost 80 years old?
Yet he is worth about 50 million dollars today.
He actually dropped out of high school to join the Air Force hoping to be a pilot during WWII but was continually rejected for being too scrawny. He was finally accepted in as a radio announcer before being transferred to becoming an entertainer for the troops.

He's still kicking at 99. A true American success story. I don't care for his politics, but that seems to happen with most entertainers.

Yeah, politics aside, I've always liked the guy, he just has raw talent. The guy has spent his entire life coddled in the Hollywood movie industry, so what can you expect his world view to be, I just wish these people would keep it to themselves and realize that just because they are famous doesn't mean we care about their views on everything.

Still, I find his life interesting in that in his original TV show with Mary Tyler Moore (who was so much younger than him that when selected, Dick didn't think anyone would believe she was his wife, yet who is already dead 8 years now) that in the show, he even PLAYED an entertainer for his troops, mirroring his real life!
