It wouldn't surprise me.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sent out a bulletin on Sunday to critical infrastructure operators and local governments warning about the potential for cyberattacks launched by the Russian government. These attacks would be in response to any US involvement in a potential war in Ukraine.

First reported by CNN, the notice said Russia "maintains a range of offensive cyber tools that it could employ against US networks --from low-level denials-of-service to destructive attacks targeting critical infrastructure."

One good thing about all the Russian cyber attacks over the last couple of decades is that companies take cyber security seriously.

It's a lot harder to hurt America's cyber infrastructure today than it was twenty years ago.

What to do? More demonizing and more accusatiions of Russian devouring their young, but still no attack.
Two options remain:

1. A false flag attack by either Ukraine or US to blame on Russia.

2. America goes home, content with spinning it as a win for preventing a Russian attack.

Could it really be that Putin/Russia was only defending it's border all along?
Nawww, impossible.

The Russians aren't the only hackers in the world. Presupposing any cyber attack is Russian based would be foolish. It's this sort of stupidity that allows situations to spiral out of control.
