DETROIT, MI - Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan was named among Pope Francis, Bill and Melinda Gates and Mark Zuckerberg as one of the "world's greatest leaders."

Duggan, who's sharing the 20th spot on the list with former Detroit Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr, is the only U.S. elected official on the second-annual Fortune Magazine list.

Fortune recognized Duggan and Orr for their handling of "the nation's largest-ever municipal bankruptcy (that) could have been a disaster."

It's no mystery Detroit has a $105 million budget surplus since Mayor Duggan has been in office, seeing as Detroit went from a population of 1,849,568 in 2015 to the current population of 645,705. Almost two thirds of the people have abandoned the city, and it doesn't require near what it did to manage the shithole that is left.
