In a Republic, actually
"Despite a court order, a reporter and photographer from The Associated Press were barred from an Oval Office news conference on Monday with President Donald Trump and his counterpart from El Salvador, Nayib Bukele.

Last week’s federal court decision forbidding the Trump administration from punishing the AP for refusing to rename the Gulf of Mexico was to take effect Monday."

The fascist Trump regime continues its contempt for the courts, the rule of law, and First Amendment.

The decision is still under appeal, Jonesie.

In any event, the AP is a font of Fake News, failing even to use the correct name for the Gulf of America.

I'd have to go check, but wasn't the issue that the AP was barred from Air Force 1 travel?

The AP is a security threat to the United States with their ongoing disinformation campaigns.

I'm glad they are not allowed in the oval office.

Access to the president is a privilege provided the press, not a right. That's my stance regarding this Constitutional matter.

I do find AP as one of the more straight-forward news organization. Historically they're the ones that call the unofficial winner of presidential elections. But since Trump wants to be a big baby over the Gulf of America thing, extension of that privilege is his call.

Trump is not stopping the AP from their far-left reporting.
They can still do it as much as they want to.

US presidency coverage is a 'privilege', not a right, says White House

The court order says they can come in the press room not the Oval Office

Try again

You are apparently a Leftard, that's why you have that opinion.

You are certainly entitled to it.

But it doesn't change the fact that AP takes a hard left stand, even denying the correct name for the Gulf of America.

The AP is a left leaning media organization. Constantly fact checking republicans and not democrats.

You are apparently a fan of big government that approves of it adding unnecessary and totally asinine costs to American businesses and our schools.

WTF does that have to do with the cost of tea in China?

'Until being blocked by Trump, AP has traditionally always had a reporter and photographer among the small group of journalists invited into the Oval Office. McFadden did not order that to be restored, only that no news organization should be shut out because the president objects to its news decisions — under a principle called “viewpoint discrimination.”'

So I guess Trump has to let an Al-Jazeera reporter and a reported from Stormfront.com into pressers too. Maybe representatives from Iran, Russia and China's news agencies too.

Yeah these rogues will not dictate how Trump runs things
Lib loons really feel and wish that a district judge is more powerful, and rightfully so, than POTUS

Suddenly Jones is all about court orders... after he was quiet about Biden ignoring SCOTUS in regards to student loans

Sheesh

Where does the courts get the power to say who the president has to invite to the white house press events?

There are over 3000 news agencies in America, are they all entitled to a seat in the press room?

Does it really matter? They are going to report or write their stories from the scripts they get every day from their masters. They are just there to stir the swill. Trump has reduced that in a massive way. And we do not want it anymore anyway.

WHO cares if its left or right leaning? Thought our country allowed all opinions to be aired. Are we no longer a Free country?
OR one that only allows one side of every story?

This whole thing is over the changing of Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America and AP not marching to Trump's orders. While the name change doesn't affect me, I find it childish, and a totally unnecessary expense laid on our businesses. I looked at a few tourist websites and saw they smartly now refer to it as simply "the Gulf", probably knowing some similar foolish Democrat president will change the name back.

Then there is the matter of our outdated school textbooks being used across the country. I recall attending a grade-school assembly where each classroom brought their old 48-star US flag and exchanged it for the new 50-star version. Now that is what I would consider the government causing a needed, non-wasteful expense.
