DeSantis just dropped out

Nice parting words from DeSantis.

"It's clear to me that a majority of Republican primary voters want to give Donald Trump another chance," he said. "They watch his presidency gets stymied by relentless resistance, and they see Democrats using lawfare to this day to attack him. While, I've had disagreements with Donald Trump, such as on the Coronavirus pandemic and his elevation of Anthony Fauci, Trump is superior to the current incumbent Joe Biden. That is clear.

"I signed a pledge to support the Republican nominee and I will honor that pledge is my endorsement because we can't go back to the old Republican guard of yesteryear, or repackage formed of warmed over corporatism that Nikki Haley represents. The days of putting Americans last of kowtowing to large corporations, of caving to woke ideology are over."

Of course we are about half the country. The vote was 74 million for Trump and 81 million (including the harvested ballots) for Biden. That’s close to half.

And YOU, who wouldn’t take a full-time job so that other people could support your kids is the one who deserves contempt.
You know, it explains everything, that you are so upset about how I chose to conduct my life and raise my kids. FIrst, it ain't none of your damn business. But second, you are actually enjoying my success. I know you are all absorbed about tax revenue, suffice it to say, my kids pay more in federal income taxes than you make in a year, probably by a lot. Half of them make over 6 figures. And two of them are under 30.

But when you cut your heat on tonight, well you can thank my son. That power plant, well they are operating at the highest temperature possible, and you know who gave them that number, the temperature that they can run at and not blow the fawk up? My son.

But that is the thing about you Trumptards. You are all about telling other people what they should do, but not so good about looking in the mirror and asking yourself what you can do. That is pretty damn sad. And actually pretty damn sick.

See, Kennedy said, "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country". I pretty much lived that, you, on the other hand are all about what other people can do for the country and what you can do for yourself. You go ahead and embrace that, own it, just don't pretend it is any different going forward.

DeeeSantis needs to go back to being himself, instead of a consultant/donor created plaything.
I think he will now I think he got caught up in the headiness of running for President and forgot who he is for awhile. Maybe got some bad advice. But I think he's basically a good guy with a lot of potential. So hopefully it will all work out as it should.

What about a Cabinet position, and if so, which one? What about DHS? The invasion of unvetted people from the southern border is just about the biggest threat to American citizens. He’d be fabulous cleaning it all up.
I'm hoping Pompeo will come back as Secretary of State. But if not, DeSantis could be a good choice there too. And would set him up for a Presidential run in 2028 about as much as Sec of State would. But yes he would be good as DHS too.

DeSantis would be a better POTUS by honing his skills as governor of one of the biggest states in the country.
DeSantis has enjoyed a supportive legislature and friendlier press in Florida than what he'll have to deal with in DC. He is untested in the snake pit I just don't believe he's ready yet. But I do think with some serious experience he would be.

And endorses Trump. He's going to be the bridesmaid for sure now!

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis shut down his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination on Sunday, endorsing the party’s frontrunner, former US president Donald Trump, just two days before residents of New Hampshire were scheduled to vote in the country’s second primary.

He wasn't going to win anyway. I don't think it's going to be very long until Trump is the only candidate contesting the remaining primaries.
The SCOTUS may rule in February that he is ineligible to remain on many state ballots.
