When it comes to impeachment, congress can impeach a president for anything if they have the votes,

there's truth to that. but we don't do that historically....well, except for Clinton. which is why the senate put the brakes on it.

It's amazing how many investigations end with secondary convictions such as obstruction of justice, lying to federal agents, and income tax evasion. Clinton was never charged with sexual harassment but rather lying to congress. Nixon was never accused in the Watergate breaking but rather obstruction of justice. Al Capone was never convicted of racketeering but income tax evasion. I expect this is how the Mueller investigation will end up.

You call it a witch hunt. Investigators call it following a trail of evidence. The problem with putting limits on an investigation is that law enforcement officers are sworn to uphold the law. If in the course of an investigation, they find evidence of criminal activity, they have to investigate it. They can't just ignore it. In fact, when Mueller was hired it was made clear that he would do just that.

Trump should have never fired Comey. Besides creating a shit storm for his staff to deal with, it added a new facet to the investigation, obstruction. Trump can't put pressure on Mueller as he did Comey and firing a second investigator is something Congress couldn't ignore.

The Mueller team is compromised badly, and it now shows the cullusion to bring down a potential President before or after his election.
