The report of the investigation would be turned over to Congress. If the House passed a bill of impeachment, the Senate would conduct the trial. The Senate trial is not bound by laws and regulations of the courts. If 2/3 of the Senate passed the bill, Trump would be out.

I'm not sure where you get your legal advice, but fire him immediately. You absolutely can be charged with obstructing an investigation , regardless of the guilt of the parties being investigated. And when it is found they committed a crime AND you knew it, that makes it even worse for you.

Trump's behavior may seem bizarre if don't understand what drives him. Have you ever said if I were president, I would....? Well Trump is president and that is exactly what he is doing. His lack of policies both domestic and foreign is no accident. Policy gets in his way. If he doesn't like someone, he fires them. If he thinks Jerusalem should be the capital of Israel he recognizes it as such. If he feels like pissing out North Korea, he does it. Well, it's not quite that simple. Mueller can ask the grand jury for an indictment of the president. The president can then fire Mueller, but the indictment stands. Someone will then take over the investigation and pursue that incitement. Trump can fire them and hire someone to shut down the investigation and dismiss the grand jury. However, keep in mind there are political consequence when a leader fires someone to keep them from investigating his activities. To even the most committed Trump follower, that is obstruction of justice at the highest level. Not even a republican controlled congress can ignore that.
