I don't think it's that at all.

I think the problem he has is that like most American Jews, he's a Jew first and an American second.

I remember during the War on Terror, he was the one advocating that we SHOULD be torturing terror suspects when everyone else, including some sensible Republicans (remember those?) were saying that it was a terrible idea.

So when some factions in the Democratic Party say, "Hey, maybe we shouldn't be aiding and abetting genocide in Gaza", of course, he's afraid of Democrats now.
