Derek Trucks being the best guitarist in the room

I have never seen anything like that. That is unique.

The guitar needs a revival I was listening to Hendrix rendition of "All Along the Watch Tower' and was reminded of how creative that solo is. You couldn't find one human being on planet earth today who could recreate the same in a song and it is nearly 60 years later.

Will we ever see anoher Guitar G_d? Someone who at a young age sleeps with his guitar and has the creativity to expand the sound and feel?

Yeah, sure. sometime in the future.

But look how many good ones are in the past, wow.

Maybe it seems they are less frequent these days. Whatcha gonna do? :dunno:

Charo was very good. :aargh:

Here she is last year:

See, what I know is that she learned directly from Andres Segovia, and she has it in spades.

She's been trained and has talent. It's a beautiful thing.

It's a shame she had to play the hoochie coochie dumb blond sex kitten role instead of actually being respected for her musical talent

Just watch John Mayer watching Derek

John is saying to himself, "I wish I could do that"

He is phenomenal! I saw him and his wife, Susan Tedeschi at the Eric Clapton guitar festival in Chicago decades ago. He was phenomenal then. I had never heard of them but I was stopped in my tracks when I heard them start "Any Day". It's still on most of my riding lists.

Susan is a great vocalist and since I saw them, her skills on a guitar have exponentially improved. They take the art seriously and it shows!

I'm not a musician but my guess is that if Eric Clapton invites you to one of his Guitar Festivals, you gotta be darn good!

I was a big fan of Susan before she married Derek and the 2 of them together are next level.

It's really interesting that you can actually track Derek's progression to guitar god status on you tube. He's been playing with absolute guitar monsters since he was a kid

Derek at 13

Actually she is respected for it. By those that know.
