The one thing libertarians DO agree on is their commitment to maximizing liberty.

I have no problem with differing opinions when they are formed with the objective of maximizing liberty. Life would be much better if everyone approached government and policy with liberty in mind.

When asked why the GOP didn't stop Trump from becoming a Republican candidate RNC head Reince Preibus said they have no power to affirm or deny a candidate.

If John Kasich or Ben Sasse wants to challenge Trump they can do so without permission from Ronna Romney.

We actually agree TOTALLY with folks like Bernie on at least 1/2 of their issues.. Mostly agree on Foreign policy. Mostly agree on stopping corporate/govt collusion. Mostly agree on "criminal justice reform" and Civil Liberties. The latter one is way different and more encompassing than just "rights".. And only libertarians and some of "old school socialists" understand the diff.

But the half is anything to do with math or economics or size of Federal Govt. And there we split ways. And the fact that the "old school" socialists are adopting and raising a whole bushel basket of your wild child progressive know-nothings that you just sent to Congress --- disturbs us greatly.

Gabbard is not in that fruit and nut basket. She's risen in the Armed Forces to a Major, speaks for herself and defends herself well in debate and with the public.. And lately, what I want in politics is "the best of breed".. The type that sticks to problem solving and "straight talk".. Don't really care where the country finds these solid specimens of independent politics, but it's independents that are the only way OUT of this downward spiral in leadership...

Which is EXACTLY what's happening in this thread. Gabbard dissed the party hierarchy.. Now she's being Bork'ed... Which is ENTIRELY predictable, since only the old corrupt codgers that have purple hearts for lying and cheating their way up thru the party ranks are deemed worthy of getting a Dem nomination..

Wouldn't be surprised if the DNC leadership put David Duke up to that endorsement. That's how vicious it gets when you think you're a Prez contender for Dems, but haven't paid 30 years of homage to them.. Just look at the anger and poo-flinging that's she's gotten from them in just ONE WEEK.. That's not by accident...

There IS a solution of course. And that's for her to STAY an independent and actually RUN in 2020 as an Independent. So when the Dems push Biden as "next in line" -- they will be taught a harsh lesson at the polls..

"downward spiral in leadership"? This country is in the best shape it's been in since the 80's....almost full employment, energy self-sufficient, companies returning from overseas and repatriating funds we couldn't tax before. Islamic terrorism mostly defeated, our military rebuilt, trade deals reworked and our relationship with China revamped. I have no idea why your ilk can't leave well enough alone and enjoy our newfound prosperity and peace. Without 90% negative news coverage and an FBI/DOJ plot to destroy him, Trump would be the most wildly popular president in history. Yet you're searching for some socialist Hawaiian who's actually dumb enough to tell us what she really believes, dooming herself to failure....Americans aren't socialists and Americans don't hate themselves....just stay on the leftist side of the fence instead of pretending you can pick and choose from one or the other....there's reasons "independents" aren't respected...they can't make up their minds and thus get no claim to leadership.
