60 Day Sentence for Ex-Waco Attorney Accused of Child Sex Crimes​

WACO, Texas (FOX 44)— Former Waco Attorney Adam Hoffman was sentenced to 60 days in county jail for his sexual abuse of a minor over the course of several years.

Initially charged with Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child, Attorney General Ken Paxton offered a plea deal to Hoffman lowering a felony and life in prison to two class A misdemeanors and 30 days in county jail.
Hoffman pleaded guilty to indecent assault and displaying harmful material to a minor but was not granted his initial plea deal. Visiting Judge Roy Sparkman denied the 30 days and doubled the sentence to 60 days.
Hoffman does not need to register as a sex offender, and his law license is suspended for five years. A crowd gathered outside the McLennan County Courthouse to show their disapproval of what they call a “light” punishment.

Ok, I read the story, and yes that is very troubling, and he would have lost my vote in the primary. Going forward, there is not a chance I would ever vote for the Dim, so I'm not sure what I would do. I would need to live there and get the feel about how Texans resolve the issue. Cornyn has sucked in so many ways, but this story changes it for me. I would now be looking for some third-party candidate, or skipping that part of the ballot at the Novemeber elction.
