I think hotel workers and restaurant waitresses, bus boys can be filled by young Americans in most cases....shoot every actor or actress in New York off Broadway is a waiter or or waitress too!

Though I will say in Maine, our summer resort hotels use HB1 visas to get enough Chamber maids to clean the hotel rooms because we did not have enough Mainers to fill the summer jobs...they even offered more than double the state minimum wage, but no takers. Our Chamber maids are usually legally imported from Jamaica....they speak English, usually have experience in their own country's resort business. We only have about a million people living in our state, but I think we have about +/-25 million visitors and vacationers a year, mostly all in the 5 warmer months....we need to use the HB1s. Money isn't an issue, having enough people is...

I don't think it is hard to get workers through HB1 VISAS, when you really need the workers.

Seriously I don't follow what you think should be done? If you want to go after the employers, what happens to the illegal employees? They're out a job and still ILLEGALLY in the country. If you think they should be given some kind of worker status or amnesty, does the employer get a comparable break?
