Democrats swept NC voting in Democrats into the Governor, Lt Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, School Superintendent, but voted for Trump at the federal level. Not sure I can explain that. Basically 300,000 to 350,000 people voted straight Dem at the State leadership level and then voted for Trump at the National level. It is a very interesting dichotomy. I get the crazy Governor pub candidate but that doesnt explain all the other offices. People are weird.

Gov Josh Stein (D) +800k
Sec of State Elaine Marshal (D) +100k
Attorney General Jeff Jackson (D) +150k
LT Gov Rachel Hunt (D)+100k
School Super Maurice Green (D) +150k

Simple, independents voted Trump then went their usual straight ticket afterwards.

And I assume you also complain about Gerrymandering in NY and CA?

History will record that, as in 2016, the Democrats nominated an awful candidate in a Presidential election that they "could not lose." They had every conceivable advantage and yet snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory.

I was just giving context in case someone wanted to point out the the house went 10 of 14 to pubs. The popular vote was very even, just the gerrymandering output made it 10-4.

Why would you trust the republican trump at the national level but not the republicans at the state level?

Because voters are fickle?

Because the State Dems are more moderate in a Southern State that at the national level?

It’s almost as if voters vote for the best candidate and not necessarily across party lines and yes Robinson was so bad he dragged down others with him but Trump is an animal.

Many people I know vote checks and balances. Not all libs are deranged transocrats. The party should heed this election and move closer to the center.

It really is quite easy, N.C.leftwing politicians are democrats while at the "federal"/national level they are white liberals who lack the capacity to figure this out.

I would dispute that many people know what the attorney general, Lt Gov, or school super stand for enough to decide who is best. I get that people understand the governor candidates. This is the third straight dem governor and 2 out of 3 times they voted trump. I think its personality/celebrity over anything else possibly.

Maybe. I wouldnt agree with your characterization but I get your meaning.

You d be surprised. The local commercials are at times very influential. Look at NH and Kelly Ayotte. In MA we were inundated with commercials about her and how bad her opponent was. And she won. Same likely happened in NC. Trump is a known commodity so it didn’t damage him but Robinson and Co got smashed.

But there is no such thing, not partisan gerrymandering.

In both states, incumbents are protected, but it's not partisan.

Bullshit. Plenty of districts made in NYC to spread out the red areas, including my own.

Its called ticket splitting voters do that. Not every voter is a hyper partisan.
