Because in order for the government to wage this war against Russia you so badly want to see kick off; they need a method of conscription. Because precious few people will volunteer for that shit show. The trade off for that obligation, for men, was the right to vote. So women can sign up too. No reason men need to trade their lives for that right, while women trade nothing.
